Head of Global Public Policy, Whatnot

Josh Korn is head of global public policy at Whatnot, a fast-growing live shopping platform, where he develops and prioritizes the company’s public policy positions and strategy across a range of technology policy issues, including artificial intelligence, competition, online safety, and payments policy. A seasoned technology, media, and entertainment policy leader, Korn has engaged with policymakers in more than seventeen countries throughout his career. Previously, as head of global innovation and technology public policy at Netflix, he led a team of experts on issues affecting the entertainment industry, including artificial intelligence, protection of minors, net neutrality, and media law; he also served as head of policy for Australia and New Zealand and manager of state and federal policy for the United States and Canada. He serves on the board of advisors of AiPHELION, an AI governance and intellectual property advisory firm. Earlier in his career, Korn investigated anticompetitive conduct and mergers for the Telecommunications and Media Enforcement Section of the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division. With his wife, Sarah, he recently established the School of Public Policy Student Access Fund at Penn State.
