Biography:

Jeremy Hoffman is an assistant clinical professor of public policy and director of undergraduate studies at the School of Public Policy. He also currently leads the School’s Next Gen Leadership Academy, a non-credit leadership program for Penn State undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers in public service.

Prior to joining the faculty at Penn State, Hoffman practiced as an intellectual property attorney in the UK, advising clients in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, media, and technology industries. Over the course of his legal career, he has worked with a wide range of stakeholders, practicing both as an in-house lawyer – serving as legal counsel at one of Europe’s largest media and entertainment groups – and as an associate attorney (in private practice) at two top 20 UK-ranked international law firms.

His teaching and research interests include population health, health disparities, mortality and longevity, demographic methods, data visualization, technology and innovation policy, and intellectual property law and policy.

Hoffman holds an M.P.P. from Penn State University, a graduate diploma in law and a postgraduate diploma in legal practice from BPP Law School, and a B.A. (Hons) in History from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
