Biography:
Jeff Hyde, ’77 Pre-Law, ’80 Law, is one of the foremost experts on state tax policy and tax issues in the United States. After graduation, Jeff worked for six years in the Pennsylvania state government. He spent twelve years in public accounting, served as senior tax counsel with GE Co. for nineteen years, and IBM for three years. He spent three years with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a consultant on state tax policy, before retiring.
Jeff and his wife Sharon have committed to supporting the School of Public Policy with an estate commitment to establish the Jeffrey L. Hyde and Sharon D. Hyde McCourtney Endowed Career Development Professorship in the College of the Liberal Arts. Jeff is a Penn State Alumni Fellow (2011), a member of the Mount Nittany Society, the Atherton Society, and the Dickinson Law Century Club. He is a member of the College of the Liberal Arts Development Council, The McCourtney Institute for Democracy Board of Visitors, and is an emeritus member of the Political Science Board of Visitors.
