Short Bio: Lauren Jones is an Associate Professor in the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University. She conducts quantitative, policy-based research in the areas of social, health, and consumer protection policy. Her work spans many topical areas, including social safety net policies in the US and Canada, risky health behaviors in the road safety and prescription drug contexts, consumer protection laws, and regulations in the childcare industry. Broadly, her work is motivated by a desire to improve policy to allow children and families to flourish. Dr. Jones has been published in policy and economics field journals, cited in the popular press, and awarded several honors, including best paper awards at the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management and the Canadian Journal of Economics. She has also consulted with provincial and state governments in a series of applied policy projects.
