Presentation Title: “The Spatial Politics of Backlash”
Short Bio: Jason Windett is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration and School of Data Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His research interest is in the dynamic process of representation in the American states. Rather than specifically evaluating one dimension of representation, his research embraces a more
holistic approach, one that examines the complex interplay between issues related to identity politics, elections, the institutional influences of political behavior, policy development, diffusion processes, and outcomes in state executive, legislative, and judicial institutions. His substantive research agenda also sits at the intersection of computational and methodological innovations that can enrich our understanding of the processes of policy-making across the American states.
